(Sign up for Frack Panel Updates Email list below)
PRESS RELEASE FOR THIS EVENT
This event has been approved to take place at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
The Catholic Diocese of Steubenville Ohio has been negotiating leasing various properties to select oil and gas companies for natural gas exploration and extraction. Several Catholic organizations and orders, including the Franciscan University of Steubenville, have done, or are about to do, the same. School districts have joined the growing number of property owners who continue to lease their land. However, questions remain unanswered, such as the actual benefit to the local economy, our quest for energy independence, etc. Beyond this, the ill-effects that are occurring in locations predominately surrounded by drill sites are forcing us to look for answers to a plethora of questions. We hope our panelists will bring their experience to you this night in order to provide comfort for any decision you may have made concerning this industry, or bring you knowledge that causes, perhaps, repentance for not having acted, or waited, one way or another.
*Funding is still being sought for this event - e-mail [email protected] for co-sponsorship opportunities*
1 October, 2012 in the Gentile Gallery, JC Williams Center at Franciscan University of Steubenville. The following is the tentative schedule for the event:
6p - Introduction of Panelists

6:22p - Professor Yuri Gorby, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
6:37p - Father Neil Pezzulo, Glenmary Home Missioner
